In June, we went to Copenhagen to create an exhibition together with Friends & Founders at New Works' headquarters at Bredgade 42. We took the opportunity to show off our latest additions in wool, jute and Trevira Recycled.

The friendship between Astrid and Friends & Founders began through a chance-meeting at Oslo Design Fair and blossomed through shared experiences at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and Milan Design Week. Our mutual admiration and values made the decision to create a joint space for 3daysofdesign an easy and joyful one. Shaping five rooms for the exhibition on Bredgade, we sought to inspire and engage by highlighting the interplay of colours and surfaces.

Friends & Founders used our upholstery fabrics for their sofas, armchairs and upholstered chairs. The choices fell on Axel, Chalet, Mons, Ruben, Sander and Lecco (a fabric from Astrid’s archive section).

Among our classic collections like Varese, California, Torno and Lugano we will be showing our latest additions to the collection:

Moritz and Iseo: Used for blankets and cushions, Moritz features a classic square pattern and strong colours. Iseo’s squared pattern becomes more irregular since the yarn thickness varies. These fabrics combines Norwegian wool with a natural-coloured warp, offering a balance of softness and structure.

Orlando: Found on a Roman shade in the hallway, Orlando introduces jute to Astrid’s curtain fabrics for the first time. The combination of rustic jute yarn and soft hemp yarn creates a fabric that is both stiff and soft, with a unique surface and a golden-brown hue from the natural jute.

Hemp Collection: Featuring Olmo, Moltrasio, Brunate, and Zelbio, this new collection is used for curtains and showcases a range of luxurious fabrics, from sheer to dense, structured to smooth.

The Soft Contract Collection: used for curtains, Astrid’s new contract collection features four fabrics—Asti, Derivo, Rossa, and Sirone—each woven with the recycled version of Trevira CS, incorporating a high percentage of recycled material. These fabrics offer a variety of structures and surfaces, from sheer to dense and structured to smooth, all in double width.
