Note Design Studio x Sørensen Leather

The Danish leather company Sørensen is known for its high quality leather and delivers materials for projects and furniture worldwide. In 2017, Note Design Studio was commissioned to select 20 colours in different types of leather for a practical "tool box" complete with matching NCS colors. The colour scale takes inspiration from the natural colours of leather and from nature's rich palette. Before the launch, furniture and objects were upholstered in the fantastically soft and fine leather.

The fabrics would not only frame furniture and objects, they also shield from view and give the room warmth and softness.

The exhibition was shown in Note Design Studio’s newly renovated premises at Söder in Stockholm. Based on the colour scale, Susanna Wåhlin at Note selected fabrics from four of our collections. The fabrics chosen were Fresia, a net structure in a linen blend that, depending on use, can feel both transparent and opaque, Como and Bern which are two of our most used flame-retardant fabrics in Trevira CS. Bern is yarn dyed while Como is piece dyed. Both are available in a large colour scale. Finally, our Venere Mano Morbida, which is a washed linen voile, was also used. The soft wash and colour scale give Venere Mano Morbida a beautiful fall and warm feeling.

The fabrics would not only frame furniture and objects, they also shield from view and give the room warmth and softness.

The fabrics chosen are all semi-transparent and go very well with the large windows that the Note showroom has. The light is filtered through nicely, but the fabrics still offer privacy from the street views. Susanna Wåhlin chose to use a simple hanging with sewn on gliders, which creates a relaxed feeling, which is also enhanced by letting the fabrics touch the floor.

The Fresia fabric, which is the most used fabric in the interior, works very well as a semi-transparent curtain in a window, but is just as nice against a wall where it is perceived as more dense. The threads in the fabric are coarse but loosely spun, the fabric is sparse and gives a slightly crisp expression. The colour scale is rich and colorful.
